Problem 1 (a) For 2D truss below, assume AE=10^(6)N for each bar and L=1m. The magnitude of applied force at node 4 is 10,000N in negative y direction. Determine displacement at node 4, element force for each bar and reaction force at node 1, 2 and 3. (b) If the temperature of element 1 decreases 100\deg C, while temperature of element 2 and 3 doesn't change, determine the displacement at node 4, element force for each bar, and reaction force at node 1,2 and 3. Coefficient of thermal expansion \alpha is 20\times (10^(-6))/(\deg )C. (AE, L and external applied force are the same as in question (a).)
