Problem 4 Use MATLAB to sketch the following continuous-time signals: (a) A square waveform \( x(t) \) whose amplitude alternates between \( -4 \) and 4 , and whose period is \( 5 \mathrm{sec} \). Sketch 5 cycles (periods) of this signal. (b) A sawtooth waveform \( x(t) \) whose amplitude alternates between 0 and 3 , and whose period \( T=4 \sec \). Sketch 5 cycles of this signal. (c) A rectangular pulse \( x(t)=\Pi\left(\frac{t}{T}\right)=\operatorname{rect}\left(\frac{t}{T}\right) \) centered at \( t=0 \mathrm{sec} \), width \( =T=4 \mathrm{sec} \), and amplitude \( =3 \). (d) A rectangular pulse centered at \( t=2 \mathrm{sec} \), width \( =T=4 \mathrm{sec} \), and amplitude \( =3 \). Find a mathematical expression for this signal. (e) A triangular pulse \( x(t)=\Lambda\left(\frac{t}{T}\right)=\operatorname{tri}\left(\frac{t}{T}\right) \) centered at \( t=0 \mathrm{sec} \), its amplitude varies linearly between 0 and 6 , and its width \( =4 \mathrm{sec} \). (f) A triangular pulse centered at \( t=5 \mathrm{sec} \), its amplitude varies linearly between 0 and 6 , and its width \( = \) \( 4 \mathrm{sec} \). Find a mathematical expression for this signal. (g) A sinc waveform \( x(t) \) whose maximum amplitude is 5 where \( \sin c(t)=\frac{\sin (\pi t)}{\pi t} \). Note: MATLAB uses the same definition as shown above for sinc function. Hint: You may use the following MATLAB commands: square, sawtooth, rectpuls, tripuls, sinc.
