A rock of mass 50 g is thrown upward with an initial speed of 25 m/s. Find the work done by the force of gravity on the rock from the time it leaves the thrower's hand until it reaches the highest point of its trajectory. hint: you do not have to calculate the rock's maximum height.

This question can be solved by using the formula of kinetic energy. That is :

where KE is kinetic energy

m is mass

and v is velocity.

Given values :

mass of rock (m)=50 g

Convert it into kg.

1 kg= 1000 grams.

So, 50 g = 0.05 Kg

m = 0.05 kg

initial speed(v)=25 m/s.
