A solid rod of radius R carries a current of i = 2.00 A, into the page, with a uniform current density. There is also a thin wire at a distance 2R away from the surface of the rod. Point P is on the line between the two, at a distance R from the wire. (See figure below.) What is the magnitude and direction of the current in the thin wire so that the magnetic field at point Pequals the magnetic field at the center of the rod? Use (+) for current into the page, (-) for out of the page. (Hint: For two vectors quantities to be equal, both their magnitudes and directions have to be the same.)
