Case Scenario:
You have graduated from a local HITT Program and have been hired as a new Coder for a local Medical Center. For the first 3 months you are assigned to job shadow an Inpatient Coder at a local Medical Center. During your training with the Lead Coder, you are concerned to hear him indicate that you do not have to worry about assigning the POA status on inpatient discharges. You decide to be proactive and research the POA status requirement.
After your research is complete;
1.) Provide sufficient evidence/reasons to substantiate your proof as to whether he is correct or not correct in regards to POA status at discharge.
