Consider the structure partially represented in the figure, consisting of a reinforced concrete slab with a thickness of 25cm, supported by metallic profiles, subjected to the following
Action:
-own weight: reinforced concrete = 25 kN/m3, steel = 78.5 kN/m3
-floor covering = 0.28 kN/m2
-overload = 5,87 kN/m2
Materials:
-steel : A235, fyk=235 MPa; Es =200 GPa; ?s = 1.15
-concrete: C30/37, fck = 30 MPa; Ec = 33 GPa; ?c = 1.5.
Assume:
-that the influence width of each beam corresponds to 2.8m
-Ultimate Limit States (ULS) : ?g = 1.35, ?q = 1.5;
-Serviceability limit state (SLS) : ?2=0.3.
Questions:
a) Dimension the metallic profile to the ULS in bending, using the Tables of metallic profiles in Annex. Consider the stress envelope resulting from alternating overload. Choose two solutions, one with an IPE profile and one with an HEB profile.
b) Using the elastic line method, determine the maximum displacement of the beam subjected to a quasi-permanent combination of loads. Check that the value obtained is less than the maximum regulatory value given by L/250, resizing the profile if necessary.
c) State the hypotheses adopted in the resolution of the previous paragraphs.
