But a fit staff can also improve the bottom line. Studies (see International Fitness Club Network) conclude that the results of employee health and wellness programs show a 100% to 300% return on investment after five years. The return comes primarily in fewer lost days, reduced health insurance premiums, and reduced employee turnover. The goals of an employee fitness program are to keeping morale high, maintain employee health, lower costs of medical insurance and personal medical expenditures, lower levels of stress, and improve employee health and fitness. The program can begin with an initial health assessment completed by a medical professional or a fitness professional. Progress can be tracked on a form similar to the one shown in ??? Figure 1: Fitness Progress Chart At the end of each week, participants receive a graph to illustrate their progress. See Figure 2. Four Winds can offer a three-month membership to a local health club or a $35 per month stipend to attend a club close to an employee’s home. We can select a club that monitors heart rate, body mass index, weight, and other measures of fitness. Employees can set goals and measure results during the three-month trial program. An off-site fitness program for Four Winds can improve employee morale and the company bottom line. The fitness project can be divided into three stages: 1. Gather information: Survey Four Winds employees and investigate fitness programs in the Minneapolis area. 2. Health evaluation: Evaluate the current fitness of Four Winds employees and set goals. 3. Health club trial: Select a health club for a three-month trial program. 3. Now you try it In the following space, write the headings and subheadings you could use to organize the proposal.
