Problem 3 Voting methods can be used for purposes other than just in elections. One such use is for evaluating products to make better, more informed decisions. Consider the choice of buying a laptop between the options of an Apple, Dell, HP, or Sony. You rank the four choices based on price, screen size, weight, battery life, hard drive space, processor speed, and user reviews as shown in the table below. If you consider each characteristic that is ranked as one voter, use (a) the Survivor Method and then (b) the Elimination Method to determine which computer is the best option to purchase. (If using this idea in real life, you may not consider each characteristic equally, for instance price may be more important than battery life. To account for this you can assign a larger number of votes for the characteristics that matter more to you.)
