Star schema diagram for the scenario
A large business is keeping track of a sales id, a sale amount, a cost, and quantity sold. These data are recorded daily over time, but the business also analyzes them by week, month, quarter, fiscal year, day of week and season. They also track these data geographically by individual store (identified by a store id), city, state, and region. Finally they track these things by customer (once again with an id) along with that customer’s age and gender.
