Suppose that air at 101.3 kP a and 288 K enters an axial compressor with a velocity of 170 m/s. Note that these are exactly the same values as the problem we worked out in class. we computed the velocity triangles by focusing on the mid-section of the rotor and stator. Compute the velocity triangles instead at the hub. Compute the compressor work and stage pressure ratio using the velocity triangle computed at the hub. Repeat the same calculations (velocity triangles, compressor work, and stage pressure ratio), but this time at the tip of the rotor and stator blades.
