• T3 (Loop): A solid ball of mass 72 g and radius 1.4 cm is shot from a launcher so that it rolls without slipping along a horizontal surface and into a vertical loop-de-loop of circular shape. The ball enters the loop at the loop's bottom. The distance from the ball's center of mass to the loop center is 16.5 cm. (a) What is the minimum speed with which the ball must roll in order to just barely stay in contact with the loop at the top of the loop? (b) If instead a solid cylinder of the same mass and radius were launched with the speed found in (a), would the cylinder also maintain contact? (c) If the surface and loop were frictionless and either the ball or cylinder were not rolling, would either reach the top of the loop, given that they began with the speed found in part (a)? Your answer to part (c) must be supported with a calculation.
