(a) Overexpression of an oncogenic Ras: The overexpression of an oncogenic Ras will lead to the continuous activation of the Raf-MEK-Erk signaling pathway, resulting in sustained activation of Erk. This sustained Erk activation will promote the phosphorylation of downstream targets such as transcription factors, resulting in the promotion of G1 progression and proliferation of fibroblasts.
