There are two different schools: one for males and the other for females. People believe that females are working harder than males. The principal of male school wanted to check the claim, so took 10 pupils from males and 15 from females and asked them about number of hours they spend in studies on the average. The sample means turned out to be 7.25 hours for boys and 8.5 for girls with standard deviations 2 and 3 respectively. Do the two samples differ significantly? Assuming the two populations are normal, and their variances are equal.
Given data:Boys: Sample mean ,Sample standard deviation Sample size Girls: Sample mean Sample standard deviation , Sample size State the hypotheses:Null hypothesis (H?): The mean study hours for boys and girls are equal.
